I have had a great love for the game of basketball since I was a child. Growing up I was always doing drills in my driveway. I did not have a hoop at my house, so I would set up cones and work on my ball handling. The past few years, I have been going to the outdoor courts at my school to work on my game several days a week during the spring, summer, and fall. This spring I have started working with a coach for one-on-one training to continue to improve.
I am a dedicated, hard-working, and competitive player. I always try to be the first one in the gym and the last one out. I play the guard and small forward positions. Being coachable and versatile has made me successful in playing both positions. My first two years of high school allowed me the opportunity of starting all of the varsity games and playing with a 6’4” forward. I had to adjust my junior year as a starter because I now found myself to be the tallest player on our team. I value and work hard to ensure that I am the best player and teammate I can be.
Over the course of my three year high school career, I have been fortunate to be able to play in the WPIAL championship game for our class twice; winning once. This year our team advanced to the PIAA state semi-final game. Through these experiences, I have learned to bring my game to the next level and play under pressure.
Outside of basketball, I enjoy playing my trumpet and being a part of my school band. I also played soccer through my first two years of high school, but decided to focus on improving my basketball skills. In addition, I am a part of the National Honors Society. My studies take precedence and I work very hard to maintain the highest honor roll. I volunteer in the community, including at the Bridgeville Area Food Bank.
My goal for my final year of AAU and my senior year of high school is to become a stronger leader and further develop as a student athlete.
