My name is Mikayla Newsome. I have been playing basketball since I was about 2. Sports runs in my family, so I grew up in it. I knew that I had a goal to play in college since I started playing basketball. I am an in and out overall player. I can work in the paint offensively and defensively, also from the perimeter. I have a good jump shot and court vision. I can also handle the ball. Passing is my best asset to my game. I love passing the ball and creating for my team. Team ball wins games. I train and workout to keep grinding and achieve my goal. I maintain a good GPA, and I am beginning to train younger female hoopers in my city.
I want to attend a college that feels right, feels like home. The college that gives me that good vibe, regardless of the division. Also a good college academic wise. A college that wants the best for me on and off the court. I don't have a specific major decided yet, but I am interested in forensic science. I want to strive and get every opportunity I can out of the 4 years at whichever college is best for me.
