My name is Paige & I was born into a very hard-working family. Since birth, my parents worked their behinds off for my brother and I because we were born into poverty. That didn’t stop my parents from providing us with what we needed and if there was a little bit of cash left over, our parents would get us toys or something we wanted. As my brother and I got older, my parents split apart which then added more struggle to our money issues.
Ever since I was eight years old up until I turned 14, my brother and I lived with my dad because my mom moved across the country. At this time, my dad wasn’t the best parent but he did what he could. He spent money on unnecessary things and neglected our needs. I was old enough to realize that he could be doing better than he is so I ended up getting my very first job at the local zoo. Although I only worked weekends & got paid minimum wage, every dime out of my check went towards helping my dad with money. I decided to get a job because my brother and I's needs weren’t always satisfied… I used my checks to buy food for us, sometimes clothes and even entertainment. To this day I always think back to this as one of my biggest obstacles in life. Why? Because we always had issues when it came to money & I used to get bullied because what I wore wasn’t in style & my brother would get made fun of because my dad couldn’t afford to get his haircut. I couldn’t stand being talked about or hearing people talk about my little brother so I had to do something about it.
A few years go by & now I’m 17, a senior in high school looking forward to life after graduation. After living through so much trouble, stress, struggle & tears, it brought me to the realization of what I wanted to do with my life. For years now I’ve wanted to work for myself running a mini-business. I never really liked the clothes my parents used to buy me when I was younger because it was always out of style… I thought of a way to change that so I was thinking about starting a clothing line. One of my long-term goals is to get my business big enough so that it reaches other countries and other kids who are into style & fashion.
