My name is Jordan Davis, I am the fourth out of five children. Growing up in a big family always meant that there was some type of competition going on. So on long Summer days, me, my two older brothers, and some of our neighbors would always play knock out. Now being the youngest one I would always get out first, but that did not stop me from playing. Even when no one was outside, I would always be outside shooting to try and get better. This not only led me to working hard at getting better, but also led me to love the game. Basketball isn't just something that I do to occupy time, but it's something that I do because I love the memories that are made. This year I worked as a basketball coach for a summer league for kids. Coaching showed me another side of basketball and made me love it more. Being able to see the kids smile every time they made a basket was so inspiring. I love being able to help others because their reaction is everything.
A point guard is someone that the team should be able to trust and count on. So as a point guard I work my hardest at practice, during the game, and during off season. I am very coach-able and will work on any task that I seem to be struggling with. Due to having superior court vision, great handles, and a high percentage shot, I am able to make an impact to the game even as a freshman. Along with those attributes I am able to deliver the ball to all types of players on the court. I can make a bounce pass to the post or deliver the ball to a forward or guard that is cutting down the lane. Outside of athletics, I am a excellent student. I take all honors classes and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I will work hard in every aspect of the game and classroom to allow me to play on a college team.
As a player I hope to play on a D2 or a D1 team, but that does not mean that I will not play at any college level that is the right fit. I want to go to a college where the basketball team, the coach, and academics are the right fit for me. Coming from a big family I would like to go to a college that can offer me a scholarship. I plan to become a physical therapist or an athletic trainer after college, so I want to go to a school that can offer me my major and that can also offer me good playing time on the court.
