As a student-athlete, it has been a priority to achieve both athletically and academically. I have found that each area requires similar types of commitments. As an athlete, I reached my goals through commitment and hard work. I challenged myself during team training and worked independently during off-seasons to improve each year.
These same principles have also served me in my academic career. As a student-athlete who wants to run at the collegiate level, I have been preparing myself by taking additional classes during the summer breaks to ensure that I am ready for the academic challenges of the college athlete.
Starting my senior year for Track I will be competing in middle/long distance. In addition, I will be competing in 300m hurdles, and 2000m steeplechase this year as well.
As I approach my senior of high school, I am anxiously anticipating the opportunity to realize my dream of running in college.
