Maya Turner '12 Recruiting Profile

Strong student academically, member of National Honor Society. 5'10", 145 pounds, athletic basketball player with excellent hand, eye coordination and quickness. Played basketball since I was 6 years old and always excelled. Going into my junior year and started since freshman year. Selected All Conference Honorable Mention as a freshman and 2nd team as a sophomore. Even though basketball is my first love, also played volleyball at the varsity level at my high school since freshman year and was selected All Conference Honorable Mention sophomore year. Currently, as a junior, was the team co-captain of volleyball team and went to the Pennsylvania State Tournament Quarterfinals! Named to All Area and All Conference second team. Hard worker who gets to the gym to work on my game as much as possible. My three goals in life are to play basketball in college and complete a degree, run my own business and travel. Caring individual who loves to help others in any type of situation. Even though I am open to the type of college campus I attend, my preference would be suburban or urban location. Most importantly, looking for a school with high academic standards that will challenge me and give me new experiences to help me grow. Desired major is marketing and would love to get into sports and entertainment marketing. There has always been an expectation for me to attend college, but my family will need financial assistance to provide me a college education. Athletic goal is to play basketball at a Division I or Division II level and get good playing experience as a college freshman and work my way into a starting position. Want to play at the highest level possible and make a successful impact on my team.
