February 2018Personal Statement
My interest in sports began when my older brother and I would play basketball at the park during the summer before middle school. He was part of his high school team, saw my potential, and encouraged me to try out for my school's junior varsity team. I started as a shooting guard and now I am team captain. Through playing basketball, I learned to be confident in myself and my capability for leadership as well as working together with others toward a common goal.
My high school acedemic goals are to keep my GPA high enough to become valedictorian, and continue pushing myself as a student and an athlete beyond graduation. My aspirations for my college education include exploring my options for becoming a nurse, and deciding which specialty would suit me best in the medical field. I'm looking for a college program that fits me athletically as well as academically. I am driven, dedicated, and determined -- I will do everything I can to earn and keep my place on any team.
