I am a 16-year-old who truly enjoys playing basketball and staying very active. I play in an intercity AAA (Division 1) team at the juvenile level (16-18 yo) and have been recruited to join my College's Competitive Basketball team (starting in 2024). I hope to graduate in 2026 and apply to Universities then.
I find team competitiveness and the constant challenge of bettering myself very motivating. A key part of being in a competitive team sport is staying positive, cheering, and supporting one another, and this gives me a sense of belonging that I find very rewarding.
I also like to coach younger teams. In the past year, I worked as an assistant coach for an Intercity AAA Bantam (10-12 yo) team. I enjoyed the responsibility, demonstrating drills, and helping out. It also gave me another perspective, being on the other side of the bench. Coaching also benefitted my playing.
In the past year, I have also been coaching younger intramural teams, but I have mostly focused on bringing my grades up for College while competing with the Intercity AAA Div. 1 Juvenile girls (16-18 yo).
