I have been afforded a unique and special education in a small Christian School. I have been well-taught and supported. Because of this, I am a hard-working and deep thinking student and person. It is my goal to attend college for nursing so that I can help patients when they need someone most.
In eighth grade, I fell in love with the sport of basketball. I looked for a team where I could learn more and play at a higher level. I joined an elite team when I was years behind their development. At the same time, my mom and I had to move from our house due to an environmental issue and my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I could have easily thrown in the towel. But I did not! I have endured knowing that I was far behind, but worked hard and dedicated myself to be able to compete at the level that is demanded. I learned that being part of a team costs me effort, time and ego. But the benefits include being supported by my coaches and teammates and knowing how to achieve my goals and add to team success. I am arriving at the point where I am a significant factor in my teams success. I am enjoying knowing that I have put in so much effort and that it has enabled me to grow as a person and a player.
I am incredibly thankful for my family, friends, teammates, teachers and coaches. I realize that they have done so much for me, having pushed, motivated, and taught me to be a better me. Whether in sports or school, character or faith, they inspire me to do more, be better, and help the
