The struggles that I have seen my mom go through and the sacrifices she has made for me has made me want to work hard, be strong, and endure through every challenge I face. All the things that I have seen her face has made me want to strive to work hard and go after my dreams. She is the reason I wanted to play basketball. When I was young she used to show me pictures of her playing basketball and tell me the experiences and memories of her with her teammates. She told me how great it was to spend time with them and how great it was to be part of a team. I started playing basketball in the third grade.
Being a student-athlete I have set goals for myself academically and athletically for every game I have played. My academic goals will always come before athletics. My academical goals are that I am going to be at the top of class, class president, part of inspiring clubs, and for all my class grades to be no lower than a 98. For college my academic goals is not an average student, but to exceed all of my classes and to graduate in the top 50 of my graduating class. My athletic goals for this year are very high as well, because this year I am going for my 1,000 point in basketball career. This year my goals are to be more efficient, more focused on the basics, and more communicative with teammates. This year I have changed my work ethnics and pushed myself and my teammates harder. When we lost last year during playoffs it opened my eyes to everything that I needed to work on better and all the things that I yet still have not mastered and critique.
