Ellen Hagen '18 Recruiting Profile

As an academically solid varsity competitor, I understand the importance of being a student-athlete and I strive to attend a university where I will be happy on and off the court. At this point in my life, I want to pursue a health science career and finding a school that gives me the opportunity to achieve that, and play basketball, is a dream come true. Attending an academically and athletically competitive high school is preparing me to excel at the collegiate level in both my education and my athletic future.

This past season (2016-17) was a history making season for our high school. Leading my team to the elite 8 of the state tournament was a major confidence builder for me because, as captain of the team, I played a huge role in getting our Lady Maroon basketball team farther than any other in Austin High’s history.  I lead the team in 3-point shots, deflections, steals, assists and free throws. I was named Defensive Player of District 25-5A, First Team All-District and Academic All-District this season.  As a player I feel I have outstanding mental toughness, leadership abilities, athletic skills, and court awareness to bring to a collegiate team.
