Personal Statement

As earliest as I can remember, I have loved playing basketball.  I love the competition, the camaraderie, and the split-quick decisions that have to be made when playing the game.  Only until recently have I decided that I want to try and play at the collegiate level.  It was just not something that was discussed in our house. My parents are both basketball coaches and being around sports all of my life, it was just not something that they harped on.

Being a coaches kid, I have developed a high basketball/sports IQ.  I try to be a good team leader through encouragement, work ethic, and accountability.  My parents have instilled in me that while talent is very beneficial, strong work ethic and mental toughness are two very important keys to any successful venture.

During my years in elementary school, my parents and I learned that I was dyslexic.  School is not easy for me and although I struggle at times, I know my strengths and weaknesses.  I maintain a high GPA and take honors classes as well.

I am excited about my future and want to attend a college where I can best benefit the basketball team and excel in the classroom.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
