Basketball has been a big part of my life; it is where I can just play the sport I love. It has been a relief to play and just forget everything going on around me and just enjoy the game. I joined track my sophomore year to give me more of a challenge and get out of my comfort zone.
My freshmen year, I received the Honorable Mention award for basketball. My sophomore year I received the Chapin All-Tournament Team, 2-5A Offensive Player of the year, All City First Team and was selected as the captain for my Varsity team . I have received the Citizenship award on the academic side. This 2018-2019 junior season, I was named Franklin All-Tournament Team, Levelland Loboette All-Tournament Team, District 2-5A MVP, TGCA All-State team, All-City First Team and was selected to represent the 5A district at the TGCA All-Star game in July. I was also recognized in November 2018 for hitting 1,000 points in my high school career.
I volunteer my time in the community reading to elementary kids, working with and motivating the upcoming high school students, and assisting the teachers and staff of my high school in any way that I can, all while staying dedicated to my studying, conditioning, and training. I am an active participant with my schools National Honor Society program which allows me the opportunity to give back to our student body and the community.
My goals for High School are to be in the top 10% with a high GPA; I am currently ranked number 87 out of 550 students. I am going to strive to get my SAT and ACT scores to be pretty high as well. I want to continue my education in college while playing basketball and would like to get my Doctoral in Physical Therapy.
One of my strongest characteristic is leadership. I will be there for my teammates before anyone else. I try to lead by example through actions and vocally. I believe that I am a team player; if my teammate has a better shot I will try my best to get the ball there before I take a shot. My philosophy on work ethic is big, I believe that if you aren't working hard other girls will be and they will catch up while you aren't getting any better. There is always room for growth and if you give time and dedication, it will pay off at the end. I am committed in the classroom and on the court.
