My name is Amber Canik and I am currently a senior at Fayetteville ISD in Fayetteville, Texas. I am a multi-sport athlete, currently participating in 7 varsity sports, but I discovered a deep love for the game of basketball at a very early age. I have dreamed of playing college basketball for as long as I can remember. As a freshman, I was named the 1A District 30 Newcomer of the Year, MVP of the Corpus Christi London Tournament, and named to the TGCA All-State team. As a sophomore, I was named the 1A District 30 Newcomer of the Year, MVP of the Banquette Tournament, and named to the TGCA All-State team again. As a junior, I averaged 26.5 ppg and reached 2,000 career points. I was named the 1A District 30 MVP and was again named to the TGCA All-State team. I also won the TABC Free Throw Award for the 1A class and was named the MaxPreps/WBCA Player of the Week for the weeks of Dec. 9 and Feb. 17. As a senior, I battled back from an ACL injury and was named to both the TABC and TGCA All-State teams. Throughout high school, I have maintained a 3.98 GPA and am currently ranked #4 in my class. I am a great leader on and off the court and I look to keep improving my skills to become the best player and person that I can possibly become.
