This is Brianna Griffins father. An honest assessment of Brianna is #1 she is very raw and is behind her peers as of now because she started playing basketball late. However, she has the work ethic and works on her game literally everyday. She practices 2 a week with AAU team (2 hour practices), 4-5 hours a week individual in the gym work, and shooting mechanics drills every night. Her natural position is shooting guard, however she is sometimes asked to play the 4. She can grab the rebound and push the ball up the floor, she has a good enough mid range and 3 point shot to where her defender has to close out on her fast allowing her to blow by. She loves to penetrate, has good post moves but she has not learned to use them in game situations as of now. She wants the ball on offense ( Not scared). She loves playing defense. She always ask the coach to switch her on the other teams best player. As a raw talent she averages 12-15 PPG and 6-8 rebounds.
The negative about her game now is she don't have the basketball IQ of alot of the girls on the court because she has not been playing as long. She beats girls with pure athleticism because they must guard her close because she can shoot the ball well enough. The way she works and how confident and physical she is on the court, she will be a really good combo player by her Sophomore-Junior year.
