Kahlea Samples '25 Recruiting Profile

Basketball has been a part of my life since I was five years old. Playing at the collegiate level has been my goal since I first stepped onto the court. I understand that having the opportunity to play in college is a once-in-a-lifetime chance that could transform my entire life.

I have strong ball handling skills, strong physical defense, mental toughness, and a high basketball IQ. As a team leader, I strive to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and assist my coach with leading practices and coaching other teammates to success. I strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you'll find.

I work hard year round on my basketball skills, participating in AAU Club, summer league basketball, strength and conditioning, also participating, high school volleyball, track (both school and summer) and lifting in the weight room, which all contributes to my athleticism.

My goal in the classroom is to study hard and maintain a high GPA. Besides volunteering at our youth basketball and volleyball camps, I also coached a small dribblers basketball team last fall. 

My goal is to go to a college where I can challenge myself in both the classroom and on the basketball court. I am flexible and want to find the perfect college match at the highest level of competition. My goal is to be an excellent role model for my peers, my teammates, my community and to make my parents proud.

Some of my accomplishments, which include being named Volleyball 2022 All-District Academic, Newcomer of the Year, All District Honorable Mention, Bi-District Champions. Volleyball 2023 All-District Academic, All District Honorable Mention and Bi-District Champions. Track 2022 All-District Academic, Newcomer of the year, Area qualifier in 4x4 relay. Track 2023 All-District Academic, Area qualifier in 4x100 and triple jump. Track 2024 Area qualifier Triple Jump District Champion, 3rd place in long jump. Basketball 2023. All-District Academic, 1st Team All-District and Defensive MVP. Basketball 2024 All-District Academic, Team Captain, 2nd Team All-District and Defensive MVP
