Tiandra Williams '10 Recruiting Profile

I am in the process of researching schools for my future education. I have a strong interest in furthering my education while continuing to play basketball. My current grade point average is 3.13, I've already taken the SAT exam and I'm already registered with the NCAA Clearing House. I play multiple positions, but my primary positions are shooting guard and point guard. I'm 5'6", but I play much bigger than my size. I also play in the 3 and 4 positions, and because I play bigger than my size it makes the game much more fun when teams think there is a mismatch on defense when I'm guarding a bigger player. They are always surprised and have to change their game strategy. I have played with two AAU teams and I play year around with an adult women's team made up of former college and former professional women basketball players. I've been the captain on the Texas Rage AAU team. I offer a team leadership, good court sense and experience beyond my 17 years. In addition to school and basketball, I have a part time job, have volunteered at the No Limit Women's Expo for the past 6 years, officiated elementary school volleyball games, volunteered as a score keeper and running the game clock at middle school basketball games, volunteered as score keeper and lines person at middle school volleyball games and taught Sunday School class at church. My academic goals are to prepare myself for a career in sports management and become a sports agent. I believe this would be a good career choice for me because I have played multiple sports since I was 4 years old playing soccer. I have a good eye for talent, good leadership skills and I also think I have good negotiating skills, which are qualities needed in a great sports agent. I have a financial need in order to attend college to meet my career goals because of my family's current financial situation. We have been hit hard by the current economic situation like so many other families.
