Hello! I’m Hannah Slate. I have been a starter for my high school team since my freshman year. While I participate in several other sports, basketball is my passion. I started playing basketball on a team as soon as I could (at the age of four). The game of basketball has reinforced several traits that important to me both on and off the court -- excellence, integrity, leadership, respect, and loyalty. I am a versatile player, having played each position at some time in my career. Near the end of my 8th grade year in basketball, my future high school coach told me she thought I would need to move from post to point guard in high school. Over the summer, I began working on my dribbling skills with a former coach and I attended Point Guard College. During this high school season, I have played point guard and post. It is important for me to do what the team needs me to do, and I will give my all.
While basketball is my passion, I work hard in the classroom. I am on Dean's List at my school, carrying a 3.95 average. Last year, I was accepted as an Up and Coming Scholar at Angelo State University, and I was inducted into the National Honor Society. I was elected as the Student Council Vice President.
My future plans are for me to find a college that is a fit for me both academically, athletically, and spiritually.
