I LOVE the game of basketball. My love for basketball started when I was 7 years old. There wasn’t a girl’s basketball program in my hometown at the time, so I played with the boys until I was 11 years old with a local sport’s program, practicing and participating in games. For the next three years, I traveled two hours round trip every week to play with a girl’s basketball club team ( The Utah Raiders). This gave me the experience to participate in out of state tournaments. Last year, I had the opportunity to train and play with an elite girl’s basketball team (Salt Lake Metro) traveling six hours round trip every week during the off season. From my Freshman to Senior year, I was a starter on my high school basketball team as a point guard. Because I enjoy playing sports, I also played soccer over the years with a club teams. In high school, I was a starter playing the position of goalie all 4 years of high school. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA in middle school and high school. Serving in student government in my freshman year was a rewarding experience. I’ve enjoyed my middle and high school years, especially high school sports. I am active in my church serving in leadership positions with the youth. Service projects with my church are one of my favorite activities. Being in a small community, I have participated in several fundraisers for charity. Ethics are important to me. I work hard on and off the court. I’m a team player and it is important to me for my team and teammates to succeed. Each coach I have worked with over the last eight years have taught me valuable lessons and skills. I appreciate their influence they have had on me. My hope and dream is to continue to play basketball, the game that I love
