Heather Kerr '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Heather Kerr. You’ve probably noticed my small town and school and consider my decision to pursue college sports abnormal, but, I believe this propels me past your conventional recruits. 

Due to my background, it’s consistently been more difficult for my name and achievements to be recognized. Despite this, I’ve shown unwavering grit to earn awards myself, such as Athlete of the Year, Most Improved, Sutherlands Athlete of the Week (2x), and various scholar awards from my teachers. I have molded myself from these experiences, which highlights how dedicated, diligent, and durable I am. 

I’ve never had a stepping stool to get where I land today. I’ve designed my own blueprints, tested the prototypes, learned from my failures, and finally developed a plan for success. I use all of these life lessons in the game of basketball to truly appreciate my position. Which is why I won’t rest till I’ve accomplished my goal.

Basketball has become more than just a sport. To me, it’s a clear projection of your social intelligence, discipline, adaptability, and a great introduction to character. I’m ready to be a part of a team and step up to be whatever they require of me. I’m a brisk learner, offer an optimistic outlook for my teammates, and always look at the big picture. All it takes is a leap of faith and some hard work!
