Personal Statement

I am still attending high school so therefor I am deciding and exploring what majors I am interested in. The past three school years I have been high honors every semester. What makes me a good candidate for a team is I am very athletic, I have quickness, I always give 110%, all my pervious coaches have praised my work of always finding things to improve on, and overall I am known to be a great teammate. I have had my most success on teams that play as a team,  score in transition, are in sync on defense, and really push the ball up the court. My hope is to find a team with all of these qualities. I am a great defensive player as well, evidenced by my coach assigning me to guard the other teams highest scores. I feel that I am a good teammate and an even better leader. I was placed on varsity my freshman year and played in all 21 games, as for my sophomore season I started in all 9 and junior season in all 20. I am currently a junior with a 46-4 record. Due to covid my freshman and sophomore year both of my seasons were cut short, my freshman year I was named quad champion with 3 other teams and sophomore season disqualified, for a teammate got covid. This season I had the most varsity experience on my team. That came with a great leadership role that I was ready to fill. My junior year I was named player to watch, placed on the dream dozen team and made first team all metro. My sophomore season I was also named player to watch, placed on the dream dozen team and made 2nd team all metro. Basketball is my passion and it has been my goal to play in college since I was in 5th grade, everyday I improve myself so I can get closer to that goal. On top of that, being a 3 sport varsity athlete has allowed me to develop time management and good study habits, reflecting in high honors my freshman, sophomore and junior year. Getting good grades is a priority for me.

Awards and Activities

  • AwardsHigh honors my whole high school career.
  • ActivitiesI am in ALC (Athletic Leadership Club). This club is for students who have been on varsity since freshman year and we work with how to become better leaders and how to make our communities/teams come together. We also have speakers join us that are previous players and college athletes that talk to us about how they control school work and the commitment it takes to be on a team as well. I find this club super helpful in multiple ways. I am in the Cancer Awareness Club at my school. In this club we focus on a different type of cancer each month and sell bracelets to help raise awareness and money for those struggling with that specific cancer. I am a member of Volunteer Outreach Club, a club dedicated to assigning students to different places in our community that need volunteer help. I am a member of Bring Change to Mind, which is a club that talks about mental health. The main focus of this club is to decrease the stigma around mental health and how to help those who struggle with it.
