Hello, my name is Brittney Brown. I am 5’7, weighing 130 lbs. An ambitious pre-high school student at Marion Senior High with a 3.6 GPA. Currently, I play the post position and training for guard with Emory & Henry’s women’s basketball’s assistant coach several times a week. I attend strength and conditioning training at Marion Senior High School. I play on Marion’s AAU team and practice with a variety of skilled members during open gym at the Wellness Center. I have someone record me during my games. When watching the playback, I always find what I could have done better, what I did well and make notes. This keeps me committed to pushing harder on what I need to improve, know what I have overcome and do well.
In my spare time, I like to play basketball with my younger brother and sister. I teach them what I have learned. At the same time, I enjoy understanding the perception of other players strategies, struggles and how to overcome any obstacles whether it be with teaching or learning.
I research the area and surrounding areas skills camps. I have attended camps at Emory & Henry, Maryville University and the University of North Carolina. I am constantly seeking opportunities to improve and gain knowledge to better my basketball skills.
I feel, I am a genuine person with great sportsmanship and personal integrity. I am loyal and respectful to my teammates and coaches, along with anyone I meet. I appreciate the benefits of hard work. I continue to stay motivated and hold high perseverance in both winning and losing. I take pride in my accomplishments and strive to be better and work harder.
My passion has been basketball since I was old enough to dribble a ball. I come from a line of basketball players; from my mother, father, grandmother and uncle who played professional basketball overseas. My focus is to attend a devoting college and graduate with a Master’s in architecture. While dedicated to basketball and becoming a team member of the WNBA.
I am extremely excited for this opportunity and looking forward to my future.
