Making the Varsity girls basketball team as a Freshman and starting as a tenth grader not only influenced my ball game but influenced my life also. It showed me how working hard and being a team player gets you to higher and better places. I first became interested in basketball when I watched my first basketball game at the high school. The boys were playing and I thought it was really exciting watching them shoot the ball, make it, and the crowd go crazy. I told myself one day people will be cheering for me when I make the game winning shot. I came a long way from playing 8th grade basketball and then now playing varisty and starting.
One thing I feel that makes me different from other players is that I’m quick on my feet and able to execute while I’m playing. I learn plays quickly and think of other options offensively and break down another team’s play. My defense, leadership, communication and speed are the stronghold of my game. Being a defensive player, communication is key and helps my teammates know what coming next. Sports aren’t the only thing I’m focused on. I’m also focused on my studies. Some goals I want to accomplish are getting scholarships and graduating with my doctorates in medicine.
