I have always strived to be exceptional, but oftentimes wonder what it means and why I want it so bad. Recently, I realized that being exceptional means to do the best you can in everything you do. As I take more advanced classes and get more involved I find it hard to spilt myself in so many ways. But I am learning that it is just as important as long as you do your best and make time for your commitments.
Last semester I lost my unweighted 4.0 and was devastated. I was .18 away from an A in my honors English class, and had a 27.5/30 instead of a 28/30 in my College PreCalc class. Instead of congratulating myself for scoring well in such hard classes and realizing I had five other A’s, I felt like a disappointment. Losing my unweighted 4.0 helped me in more ways than it hurt me, beyond the fact that I can no longer be valedictorian.
It helped me with my confidence and pressure. I used to stress over my grades so much that it caused me issues mentally and physically. But now I just do the best I can, because doing your best is always enough. Because of this, I have allow myself to let loose and hangout with my family and do things I love, while also taking my education seriously but in a healthy way.
It also helped me because it allowed me to appreciate and love everything that I have been successful in, including sports and clubs. While also allowing me to pursue my music and modeling career. Also. I currently am Choir president and section leader, ASB secretary, In national honors society, In Science Olympiad and the creator of a community service club at our school called Letters for Rose. As well as being involved in a traveling basketball team, weightlifting, school basketball, golf, and soccer.
Being involved has shaped me to be the person I am in so many ways. Wherever I choose to go to school, I will do everything I can do to share my kindness, and happiness as others have done for me. I love everything I do, and I hope that as I grow up I can help people feel the same way about themselves and their lives.
Thank you for your time!
