Personal Statement

My name is Maya Witherspoon and I am a 5'7" shooting guard at Issaquah High School in Issaquah, WA. I am a passionate and driven person both athletically and academically. Sports have taught me many things such as time management, teamwork, and commitment. Playing basketball in college has always been a goal of mine and I am striving to achieve this goal. My main focus as a student athlete is to maintain high academic standards as well as strengthening my mental and physical game. A school in which I can learn from other people and make an impact would be ideal. I would also like to go to a school with a good environment where I can find a balance between the academics and athletics. I am open to different types of schools, however, I would prefer a school that has less than 20,000 students and courses in which I can major in pre-med.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
