Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Valerie Meissner and I am from Colgate, Wisconsin.  I have just completed my junior year and going to be a senior at Germantown High School.  Ultimately my goal is to play basketball while earning my college degree. I am willing to consider all options because I want to find a college that is the best academic, athletic and social fit. I am loyal, competitive, disciplined and hard working.  It has been a dream of mine to play college basketball at the highest level possible.  I take pride in my work ethic, and spend countless hours in the gym bettering myself as a player.  Academically I have challenged myself with some higher level courses. I am an extremely hard worker in the classroom, and will continue to do so.  I have yet to find a career path, but have narrowed down some options.

Junior year I led my team to the first conference title in 43 years.  We then went on to win regionals, but lost in sectionals.  We ended up 13-1 in conference play and 19-6 overall.  I was also awarded with an all conference award being Honorable Mention.  As the point guard I led my teammates offensively and defensively.  In crucial game situations I was looked upon to take control and finish games.

I have been playing AAU basketball since the 8th grade.  I started out playing with WBA Prestige through my sophomore year.  I played on a very good team qualifying for Nationals my first year.  I joined Wisconsin Impact the summer of my junior year and plan to finish my AAU career with them.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
