Personal Statement

My life and love for the game has been influenced in multiple ways: the two main influences are my support system and my faith. The people that support and motivate me to become better every day are my parents, family, friends, trainers, and coaches. I wouldn’t be who I am today without their guidance. My faith plays a major role in my life. Sports are important, but above all is my faith in God.

I began playing basketball at a young age through my local YMCA program and later in the youth traveling program. From there I played middle school basketball, and I now have the privilege of starting for my high school and AAU teams.

Through playing basketball, I have learned so much about myself, including how to work hard, be dependable and lead. Long hours of practice have given me strength and helped me know that I excel at hard work. Getting in reps and becoming stronger outside of practice times are important to me. Through basketball I have learned how to be dependable and understand that listening and being present to my coaches and teammates are vital skills. Basketball has also taught me that I have leadership skills on and off the court, and I will continue to be intentional in all aspects of my life. My leadership ability, honed on the basketball court, is something that shines through in all I do.

Academics are a huge part of being a student-athlete. Receiving and maintaining good grades is something I strive for, achieve, and will remain committed to in college as I prepare for success in my future career.

My goal is to play on a collegiate team where I can use my athleticism and work ethic to better the team.  I love playing basketball, and nothing would make me happier than to continue that after high school at the collegiate level.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
