Personal Statement

Gritty - Tough - and Determined!  Varsity Starter as a sophomore.  Not afraid of contact, lockdown defense, and strong court vision!  I am a three-sport athlete who loves competition.  I have a strong love for track but basketball has my heart!  My speed and aggressiveness have earned me a spot on our HS varsity team as well as our AAU open team.
As a junior, I led my team in assists, 2nd behind my older sister in points, and steals. I was also named honorable mention for All-Conference as a junior.  Something that makes me different from other recruits is my determination to play through anything, I expect to be disciplined, and pushed in all areas of growth, I am not easily offended.
A little more about my athletic career - Track (2022) State Champions in the 4x200 for the 2nd year in a row.  5th in the State - Long Jump, Conference champ 100, 200 and 4x200 .  Track (2021) we won the Div. 3 State Championship in the 4x200 (I am the anchor), 5th in the 4x400 (I am the 1st runner) and 6th in the 4x100 (I am the anchor) .  I also qualified for State in the Long Jump but unfortunately didn't have my best meet.  In our conference, I won the conference title in the LJ, 200, and 4x400 and finished 2nd in the 100.

I am also a two-time State Cross Country qualifier.  Speed events are by far my passion over long distances.  Our school canceled the Spring semester of 2020 so spring 2021 was my first High school track season.  It is my goal to attend a college or university in an area that allows me to grow personally as a student and as an athlete.
Something a bit unique about myself - I am also a very competitive rodeo athlete.  My PR in the goat tying event is 7.1 seconds. Which is an arena record.    I tell you this as a way to show my toughness and determination as we do this in the rain, snow, and sunshine.  I feel a person who can jump off a horse at top seed, keep their feet, and be an athlete is worthy of consideration.  :)
Thank you for your time and consideration.
