As a student Athlete, I have not always thought about going to college. I never really seen or paid close attention to how my potential in basketball can change my life with in no time through the process. My freshman year back in 2019 was the first time I’ve ever had an actual basketball experience with older people, playing varsity at the age of 14 years old showed me a lot as an coming upper class men in the next few years. I have big plans for myself when it comes to touching my foot on the court, I don’t have an exact plans B. My reasons for that is because where I’m from is rough but also a nice city, I cannot process it a entrepreneur business in a good way due to other people having the same ideas. I am willing to learn more myself & what I like while I’m out there in college. There is multiple things I can come across as a young woman that can take me very far in my life if basketball doesn’t succeed the way I dreamed it. I am determined to earn the best scholarship there is to offer my way, I am very hard working as a player, positive attitude, excellent encouragement as a teammate, sportsmanship is beyond the high level of my intelligence. Sisterhood & dedication is what I look for in a basketball team, having the exact same journey as others from around the world is very special to see or deal with for most people that aren’t used to anything new. When I started to get recruited & noticed by several college coaches during my games it showed me & put the Thought in my head that I am worth it, I have more than 100% of faith in myself knowing what I am capable of. Academics became a hard struggle this year due to family issues I never thought I’d had to deal or live with, my mind & mental state caused me so lose a lot of focus. I don’t blame anyone else but me because we all go through things but its always how we handle them, losing my grandfather was the biggest Lost of my life as of right now. Throughout the time period of grieving became more stronger & determined about my life & future, I knew for a fact I had to get out of Milwaukee. Not because of my lifestyle or my issues I want to run away from, it’s because I know I deserve better as the person I am & I know I can make that happen when I lock in with my inner truth stating that playing basketball is a important Devoted sport I am interested in participating with after Highschool. I want to continue to play basketball, my fun & experience as an young African American female doesn’t end next year. I am taking all the commitments that will help me achieve as a person later in life.
