My greatest influence in my life besides my family would be my youth travel basketball coach. He saw possibilities in me and pushed me to reach a higher level of play. He worked not just on skills, but on building confidence that I hadn’t seen in myself. He had his own passion for the game and he made a personal commitment to each of his players. His attitude was contagious and is a large part of why I continue playing this great game.
My natural strengths are my positive attitude and ability to be open-minded which makes me very coachable. I’ve learned to take more calculated risks by reading the floor, listening to my teammates, and adapting to my coaches’ instructions. Playing on the Varsity team as a sophomore was a personal best in 2017/2018.
Academically, I’m focused on finishing strong in high school with additional English classes and AP classes which should help prepare me for college studies. I plan to declare my major in Psychology and minor in Sports Medicine. I want to support athletes’ emotional and physical wellbeing.
I’m very interested to hear about your coaching beliefs and player expectations and to share with you how I can excel within your program.
