Samantha Heim '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Sam Heim and I am interested in playing beach volleyball in college.  I have been playing at Dakine Volleyball Club for the past 3 years on the sand.  I am in the graduating class of 2023 at Gig Harbor High School and have a 4.0 GPA.  I would like to study architecture in college.  I am a 5'10" blocker/split blocker and plays either side.  Before I made the switch to beach volleyball, I played indoor for 2 years at Dakine.  I also play on the varsity volleyball team for my high school since sophomore year.  As a tall indoor player, I always played middle blocker and did not get many opportunities to develop my other skills.  When I started playing beach volleyball, I loved getting to serve and play defense!  It was a difficult decision for me to make the leap and play beach year round, giving up the indoor club season but it was a decision I have never regretted!

Beach volleyball is a game that I have grown to love and hope I get the opportunity to continue competing at the next level!
