I fell in love with diving after I tried out for my high school's team in my sophomore year. I am pretty new to the sport so my dive list is still developing, but I think that I will continue to progress quickly due to my experience in competitive gymnastics.
Coming into the sport I had no real experience, but with my coach's help and hard work I was able to win JV league finals championship my first season. Additionally, I received the JV MVP award as a sophomore and the Most-Improved Varsity award as a junior. I think my work ethic is my greatest strength. I will devote myself to something until my own ambition is satisfied and I am always ready to get on the board. I am also a team player despite being in only individual sports and I was named team co-captain for the 2020 season. I have always felt a responsibility for my peers and team atmosphere is something I've come to value very highly.
In terms of academics, I am looking for a school that nurtures passion. My main challenge in high school is the feeling that I'm being limited or held back from my potential. I have good grades, but what defines me as a student is my genuine enthusiasm about learning. A school that values that in its student body and is active about fostering it would be a good fit for me.
