Sofia De La Rosa '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Sofia De La Rosa, a sophomore 5'2 1 meter diver who has a 4.0 unweighted gpa and a 4.08 gpa that has accumulated over my first year and a half of high school. Diving in college is a big goal of mine due to the opportunity to study and get a further education in the field of my choice while simultaneously being able to continue to grow and compete in the sport I have grown to love. I am looking forward to finding teams and schools that provide a mutual fit and provide me with this incredible opportunity.

I recently began my diving career at the beginning of this year's high school dive season.  Although I am rather new to the diving community, I did competitive gymnastics from a young age and competed for six seasons. While I am no longer partaking in gymnastics, the sport has taught me valuable lessons that I can apply to my future pursuits in diving. Throughout my participation in competitive sports, including competitive gymnastics, varsity sideline and competitive cheer, and dive, I have gained the traits of perseverance, commitment, and time management; which are attributes that are advantageous to all scholar athletes.

One of the things that set me apart from other recruits is my academic drive. I have a successful work ethic that has allowed me to achieve straight A's all throughout high school, including AP and Honors classes. The kind of focus and effort that I put into my schoolwork and academics is the same kind of dedication I pour into athletics. I strive to be my best and continue to improve in all aspects of my life, including school, sports, and social connections.

My personality is another aspect that sets me apart from my peers.  Although diving is an individual sport, I have had no issues with connecting with my teammate and have made strong friendships quickly and contributed to making my team a positive and healthy environment. I also stay connected to my peers and community through the ASB program at my high school and participating in community service events in my area.
