Hello, my name is Jordan Kuta and I am a Junior at Highland Park High School in St. Paul, MN. I compete on the varsity dive team as well as club diving for Northstar Diving Club. My diving career started only this past year due to a torn labrum in my hip. Previously, I had a successful 13 year career competing in club gymnastics as a level 9 gymnast. I am very familiar with the time management as well as the stress of competition and have learned to harness that stress to help me perform at my peak when it matters most. My teammates are truly what make each day awesome. I was very pleased when I was selected as the dive team captain for the 2020/2021 season.
Having dyslexia for my entire life has taught me tenacity, determination, the ability to stand up for myself and be a strategic thinker. I have been on the honor roll since 8th grade with a current grade point average of 3.63, currently taking all but one accelerated course. I am a Teacher’s Assistant for French, and I volunteer in grade school classrooms. During the summer, I coach recreational gymnastics as well as work as a nanny. I am interested in competing in diving in college where I can be an athlete but most importantly get an education, grow and develop as a young woman. I am intrigued with biology and would like to pursue a career in the STEM field possibly as a Geneticist.
