Hello,
My name is Kiley Thrush and I am an incoming senior at East Ridge High School in Minnesota – Class of 2025. Diving in college is a big goal for me. Currently, I dive for my high school team and local club team – North Star Diving Club with head coach Jason Baumann. Finding a program that meets my diving and academic goals is very important to me. After college – I wish to attend Med School and become a doctor with a focus in Pediatric Medicine.
I am a lifelong gymnast turned diver. I began my club gymnastics career at Perpetual Motion in Woodbury, MN at the age of 2 and competed in club gymnastics through my freshman year making it all the way to level 8. Throughout my career – I never missed qualifying for a state or regional meet and have helped my Varsity team to back to back appearances at State. In the fall of 2021 I decided to try something new and went out for my high school dive team as a Freshman. In August of 2021 I attended my first diving practice and instantly fell in love. To say I took to the sport quickly would be an understatement. By the end of my first season I was the best diver on my team. After the season concluded – I spent the remainder of my freshman year focused on gymnastics. Prior to the 22-23 high school season I was introduced to North Star diving and participated in some summer workouts to prepare for the upcoming high school season. As a Sophomore – I really began to shine and qualified for my first MN State High School meet. As I did the year prior – I shifted my focus back to gymnastics after the high school diving season concluded. Then, in March of 2023 I decided to begin club diving at North Star Diving Club where I was introduced to 3M for the first time. In April of 2023 I competed in my first club diving meet in both 1M and 3M. During my 23-34 high school season as a Junior I qualified for my 2nd straight MN State Diving Tournament and earned multiple All American Considerations. Due to the tremendous amount of success I was experiencing and my growing love for the sport of diving – I decided that the 2023-2024 gymnastics season would be my last. In February of 2024 I competed in my last gymnastics event by helping lead my team to it’s 2nd straight State High School Gymnastics Tournament. It was a great way to go out on top for a sport I love, but I am even more excited to shift 100% of my time and energy outside of the classroom towards diving.
I have incredible work ethic, determination, and a fun loving and energetic attitude. Over the past few months (November through mid-February) I have been balancing a full time high school gymnastics career while still making 3-4 diving practices per week at my club – all while maintaining a 4.0GPA and volunteering on Sunday evenings at the local nursing home. I currently have a full lineup in 1M and 3M and have began initial dives on 5M as well. On 3M, I am currently working on my Reverse 2 ½ and plan to start working my front 3 1/2 and Full Out this summer. I have always been a great teammate on every team I’ve been a part of and you can always count on me to bring the mood up.
You can watch me in action and follow my journey by following my Instagram account (@kthrush_diving). I am happy to send more videos upon request as well.
