Hi, my name is Arabella Tantono. I'm a potential 2028 1 meter, 3 meter, and platform recruit. I was a level six gymnast before switching to diving in the summer of 2022. In seventh grade I made the Newburgh Goldbacks varsity swimming and diving team and I fell in love with the sport. From a young age, I’ve always loved to flip around. Diving is not just a sport for me. I am very dedicated and my parents drive me an hour and ten minutes almost every day to train at Purchase College with my coach, Michael Darland. Whether I’m practicing flips on my backyard trampoline or studying videos of Olympic divers for technique, I come to every practice with determination. What excites me most about the idea of being able to dive in college is the opportunity to learn from college coaches and train with teammates who share my passion for dive. I want to find a supportive and competitive environment where I can continue to grow as a diver and as an individual. Beyond that, diving has taught me important life lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and resilience. It has taught me a sense of discipline and focus that extends far beyond the pool deck. I believe these qualities will serve me well both academically and athletically as I reach to achieve my goals.
