Personal Statement

I am committed to being a competitive diver in college. My goal is to help my college team to win a championship by delivering points. I am choosing to continue diving at the college level because I truly love the sport and want to contribute to my college's success. I am looking for a school that has strengths in both athletics and academics. With my commitment to a rigorous school schedule and many hours on the pool deck, I have become very good at balancing my various activities throughout the day. I am an outgoing and optimistic person. I try to keep a positive attitude on the pool deck, in the classroom and with my family. My coaches and teachers know me as a leader, and I look to carry my strong leadership skills with me to college.

ActivitiesIn school, I am involved in the choral program, and a club that meets at lunch to sit with students with special needs. I have been the diving coach for my local summer league pool the last two summers and will coach again this summer. I work at a summer camp for two weeks each August. At this camp, I serve meals, clean facilities, and set up activities for the campers. I volunteer at the Special Olympic Swimming event every year with my high school swim & dive team.
