My name is Ainsley Stover. I am a senior at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona and have been competing on our varsity girls golf team since freshman year. Unlike many student athletes, I did not begin golfing until I was in 8th grade. That said, I took to the game with immediate enthusiasm, and started to compete in 9th grade. Despite my late start, I’ve worked very hard to achieve some notable accomplishments: I became a part of my high school's team who had previously won the Girls National High-school Championship as a freshman, I helped our team win third place my junior year, in which I placed 14th individually. Senior year, we won second place in the Arizona D1 Girls Golf State Tournament, in which I placed 18th individually. I am ranked twenty-third out of all the D1 high-school girls golf schools in the state of Arizona. About a year ago, I was sought after by Dan Campbell, renowned coach to several PGA tour professionals. He noticed me on the range, believed I had a lot of talent, and asked to take me on as his student. Under his coaching, I have rebuilt my swing to be repeatable and efficient, my scores have dropped from mid eighties to mid seventies in a year, and I have gained an understanding of my swing so that I know its blueprint and how it works. I have completely fallen in love with the game. The golf course is my home-away-from-home. It’s where I find peace, enjoying my time becoming a better golfer in every aspect of the game. I spend nearly 30 hours a week practicing and training, happy to commit my time to becoming a stronger player. As a competitive golfer, I have learned the art of time-management, the benefit of patience, and the importance of perseverance.
