My name is Alex Faraci and I am a junior at Pinnacle High School in Phoenix, Arizona, class of 2024. At school, I am a member of the Women’s Golf Team, National Honor Society, and also a member of our school’s CRAZIES club which supports all school sports teams. I also serve as a Junior Board Member for Kitchen On The Street, a local non-profit which works to end childhood hunger by providing weekend meals for less fortunate children.
I began playing, and fell in love with golf, in 2018 after many years of club volleyball. Although I may not have as much golf experience as others, I believe it increases my coachability and potential for growth and improvement. My experience in other sports has taught me to be a hardworking, supportive, and encouraging teammate earning me the “Promising Pioneer Award” the first year on my high school team. This inspired me to focus on the advancement of my golf game, both the technical and mental aspects. I continue to work towards being better everyday. A better player and a better person. Recently I began working with a new coach and I will continue to play in multiple JGAA tournaments throughout the Spring and Summer before high school golf in the fall.
When I’m not playing golf, I love to work with horses. Both golf and horses have taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible. They have taught me that I have much more control over how I work my body and brain than I thought and that my thinking can drastically change the way I play (and the way a horse responds to me).
The beginning of my high school career was not as expected due to Covid. Therefore I am really looking forward to going to college where I can play golf while I earn my business degree, immerse myself in a new culture, and serve the community. I am so excited for the future! And, I truly believe that golf will forever be a part of my future as it is a life long sport and a skill that I can use in my professional and personal life going forward.
