Hello! My name is Madison Stout, and I am a junior attending Claremont High School.
I first became introduced to golf, by my mom and dad around 8th grade. At this time, I had just taken a break from travel softball and was looking for another sport that I could play in order to stay active. Softball was a big part of my life, and being involved in a team that practiced constantly, helped me develop a great work ethic and team skills. Softball has helped me develop great hand eye coordination, which easily transferred over to golf. I have been a part of the golf team over at my high school, and have been on varsity since my freshman year.
I have been excelling pretty quickly in my golf game, and within the first 8 months of picking up a golf club, I had already placed first in one of my SCPGA tournaments. Since then, I have been improving my golf game, and regularly practice on my own and alongside my personal coach. In addition, I am proud of the fact that I made it to the second round of CIF my sophomore year of high school, and I am proud of the progress I have made so far and am continuing to make.
Along with golf, I also care strongly about my academics in the classroom. I always strive to maintain great grades, and take pride in my work. I have normally been a straight A student, and am actively involved in the classroom as well. I love participating in school activities, all while maintaining good grades.
In addition, I also regularly volunteer at many events held by the SCGA. I enjoy working with and teaching kids golf whenever I get the chance. I have met many people over the years, and have had the opportunity to participate in many things that I wouldn’t have gotten to experience otherwise. Not only do I volunteer over at SCGA, I volunteered regularly on the weekends to also teach kids golf over at Goose Creek Golf Club before Covid-19. That is my favorite course by far, and I love the fact that I can actively help the community.
I believe that with my strong work ethic, dedication, team skills, and desire to compete, I will make a great addition to any college!
I look forward to discussing how I can contribute to your team, thank you!
