Angelique Sutami '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I’m Angelique Sutami. I am currently a senior graduating in 2020 from Vista del Lago High School. I have grown up living near a golf course, but since no one in my family plays golf, I didn’t realize I would love the sport until I tried it the summer before high school. This is my fourth year playing golf and my fourth year on my high school’s varsity golf team. Currently I am playing 2nd seat. Last year I won the most improved player award as I brought my average down 10 strokes over the course of the season. During the 2018 season, my team went undefeated through the end of the league. We were the 2017 Conference Champs and moved on to win Divisionals. This season we are undefeated again and hope to win Masters and NorCal!

In addition to being a member of my school’s varsity team, I started playing tournaments towards the end the 2017 season and continue to improve my game during the off season. My handicap is currently 10 overall. Recently I scored my personal best of 39 (+3) during a 9 hole match. Currently on 9 hole rounds, I score an average of 6 over. When playing an 18 hole round my personal best is an 81 (+8).

My undergraduate academic interest is the major of psychology. I am aiming to earn my degree while playing golf at the collegiate level and I am motivated to earn the opportunity to do so!

High school has taught me to balance golf, school responsibilities, and my personal life. Hard work has led me to excel in both golf and academics. I study hard and have maintained a 3.7 GPA while taking college prep, honors, and Advanced Placement classes.

I would be a great asset to your team because of my motivation, dedication, and love for golf which has led me to improve on a grand level throughout my golf career. My coaches have have said my greatest strength is my coachability.
