McKenna Nelson '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is McKenna Jean Nelson, I will be a part of the graduating Class of 2021, I made the varsity golf team as a Freshman, Sophomore and Junior. I look forward to my senior year as the #1 golfer for San Joaquin Memorial High School and to bring home another CIF Valley Golf Championship. Golf has been a part of my life since I was in the 8th grade and I knew then that this sport would become a passion of mine. I started playing golf in the 8th grade and I have been learning and becoming proficient  for the past 4 years. I have been blessed to be coached by Tommy Masters who was Nick Watney's swing coach for many years.  Being part of a team has taught me leadership skills, how to have a positive influence for the team, corrective criticism, and how to grow mentally and physically in my personal life as well as school and sport life. One of my strengths is my mental approach to the game, I enjoy competition and want to be challenged to the highest level so I can grow as an individual and as a player of the team. 

I work hard on the course as well as in the classroom, I look forward to attending a college that will fulfill my ambition to continue play golf and continue my focus of working towards achieving my career goal of becoming an chiropractor / sports medicine. I have been taught that no obstacle is too large with hard work and dedication. I will conduct myself with respect on and off the court as I know the way I carry myself reflects on my team, coaches, school and family. I envision my college years to be a personal growth period.
