Personal Statement

I started playing golf at the age of 5 after I saw a boy practicing at the range. From that moment I was interested in playing golf and exploring where it'll take me as an athlete and as a person. I played my first tournament at the same age of 5 and won first place. I enjoyed the thrill of competing and playing against others with the same competitive drive as myself. I started competing internationally at the age of 11. I was introduced with so many different conditions and golf courses which widened my view of golf. It was much more vast.

I hope to play collegiate golf at the highest level while pursuing my academics. I love technology which is why I want to study engineering in college. After getting my degree, I hope to be able to pursue my dream of going professional.

I shot 81/81 over the first 2 days making cut in a field of 80 players. On Day 3, it rained for 3 hours and play was delayed. The 3rd day play was very challenging because the course was very wet, soggy and difficult. I shot 92 finishing 50th out of 80 players. Not the scores I was expecting. I was very disappointed with my scores even though I made the cut. That was my 1st tournament in 3 months because I am in a boarding school (Taft School, Watertown CT); and have classes Mondays to Saturdays leaving me with no time to play tournaments when school is in session.
