Nikki Yatsenick '12 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a high school junior and I love the game of golf. Within the last year I have added a coach, Floyd Gensler who previously coached Caroline Keggi to the LPGA. We logged 300 hours last August and shaved 10 strokes off my average score. I am not playing Soccer this year and have decided to work on my golf through the fall. This year I played CT PGA and am the #4 ranked girl in the state of CT. I posted my personal best tournament score of 73 to win a CT PGA event. I also won the Waterbury Country Club Ladies 18 Hole Championship and am the youngest in the Club's history. I plan to continue training throughout the winter and do even better next year. My coach and I have a 2 year improvement plan. My high school team was 15-1 this past year and was the League champion. I was personally undefeated. I am an extremely hard worker and have a very good temperament for golf. I do not get bothered by things and I think I am very mature for my age. I am basically a good, reliable, and even person and this is one of the best things about me. I am calm and cooperative and easygoing about things. I only took 2 days off from golf all summer this year. My goal is to play College Golf somewhere and be part of a dedicated and fun team. I push myself very hard in practice, so I do not necessarily need a coach to push me in that way. I am refining my swing and I hope to have a coach to help with the technical aspect of my golf and also the mental game. I love the warm weather and would love to go to school in the west or the southeast. I have relatives in Florida and California. But truthfully, if I met a coach I really loved and a team thatI really felt I fit with then that would be more important than the location. Academically, I am an average student and an extremely hard worker. I go to a very demanding prep school; The Taft School. I like working with kids, so education might be my major. I worked in the pre-school for my community service at my last school and loved it. I also am the videographer for the Varsity Volleyball team and love film and photography as another possible major. Overall, I want to continue my golf in college and find a school and a coach and a team that is a good fit for me so I can do well and have a good experience. I am very interested in visiting colleges and meeting coaches so that we can see if I am a good match.I think I would be a good positive addition to any team beacuse you can count on me and I am determined in both golf and school. As of June 2011, I am the Ct Women's Golf Champion.
