When I was ten years old I began playing golf, but before I ever picked up a golf club I was a dancer and soccer player. I danced from the ages of two to ten, ballet, modern, jazz, and tap, and I played soccer from the ages of eight to ten as well. I love playing golf as playing in all the different tournaments has helped me meet so many different people from different schools in the state of Florida.
Currently, I attend Buhholz High School where I’m in the Academy of Entrepreneurship and I’m part of our club associated with our program, DECA. Being in the academy has helped me determine that I would like to major in Business or Sports Management when I get into college.
Going to college means a lot to me because of all the opportunities and benefits it’ll have on my life and future career. By going to college I will be fulfilling my dream of walking across the stage, receiving my diploma, and heading out into the world to be an entrepreneur and own my own business.
I’m looking forward to playing golf in college as I love the game and how it makes me feel as an individual to be part of a team. As an individual, being on a team would continue to help me grow, not only as an athlete, but also as a person and student. I’m a team player and believe that we are one team that works together to successfully win.
As a golf team, my current high school has been very successful since my freshman year. We’ve either won or placed second in districts and have either placed second or third for our region. For states my sophomore year we placed third, and after a very rough first round we pulled together as one and finished strong in tenth my junior year. Additionally, we play every year in the Crutchfield Hawkins Tournament and we’ve placed third my freshman and sophomore year. We were supposed to compete my junior year but had to pull out due to Hurricane Irma.
Golf can be a very frustrating sport but at the same time it’s a sport you love to play. I find its helped me to focus better in school because it requires a lot of thinking and concentration to get that perfect shot. Not every shot in golf will be the same, just like not every test in school is the same.
