My name is Alexandra Quinonez, I’m a senior in Naples, Florida.
I started playing golf when I was 11 years old. As I played more and got older I learned that golf mirrors life, the game has taught me many skills, such as patience, perseverance and resilience. These traits not only helped me become a better golfer, but also helped me become a better student academically.
I have had the opportunity to participate in local golf organizations including the First Tee and LPGA. I have also been competing in the Southwest Florida Junior Golf Association, the Florida State Golf Association Junior Tour (FJT), and the South Florida PGA Challenge Tour. In addition I have played for Barron Collier High School’s golf team. I was co-captain in my junior year, and will be again for my upcoming senior year. I was also honored as Athlete of the Week in my junior year.
Currently my GPA is a 4.2, I expect to be inducted into the National Honors Society this year. I have been active in community service by volunteering for the SWFPGA, LPGA, and First Tee youngsters.
I am excited and looking forward to the college and academic experience. I also have a strong desire to play college golf. I’m confident I will be a positive asset and contribute to any golf program because I am a team player and I have a yeoman work ethic.
