I started playing golf with my dad when I was in 3rd grade and I knew it was for me. In the 4th grade, I was introduced to the first tee in Little Rock, Arkansas through the girl scouts program. Golf is extremely challenging, but that’s why I enjoy it. Also, I found golf to be a challenge because I’ve been a starter on the High School Golf Team since the sixth grade and was the MVP for the past 3 consecutive years. During the fall 2017 season (my 9th grade year), I had the lowest score at Florida State Regionals which was the catalyst for my team making it to State for the first time in four years’ and it felt amazing.
I gained valuable leadership skills from LPGA Golfing with the Girls Leadership Academy in Dallas and while being a captain of the PGA Junior League here in Tallahassee. I also was able to apply those skills as a counselor at a golf summer camp where I helped younger kids learn how to play golf.
On the course, I strive to be a leader at all times and have a positive influence on my team. One of my college goals is to major in design and use the things I learn to positively impact people's lives. As I continue to grow as a player and as a student, I am determined to push myself to be the best I can possibly be. I want my college years to be a period where I grow as a person and to carry myself in the best manner that positively reflects my team, coaches, and the school I attend. And, most of all, I would like to help the college that I attend, win a National Championship.
