Personal Statement

My mom and dad greatly influence my golf career. I want to do the best I can to make them proud, but also to impress myself. I started playing for fun with my dad when I was nine years old, and I started taking lessons around the age of ten. Through playing golf, I have learned that practice does not make perfect, but it does make progress. I have learned how to push myself, and it has shown me how to manage my time and social life.

When I joined my high school team, I was very nervous, but it did not take me long to get comfortable and create friendships with my teammates. Some of the skills I possess are, being an exceptional listener, courteous, motivated, and intelligent. Although golf is a significant part of my life, my academics are my main priority. My goal is to challenge myself academically as much as I can while still being able to improve my golf game.
