The game of golf has impacted my life for the better since I was introduced to it at the age of 5. I did participate in other sports like soccer, swimming and track and field, however I truly love every aspect of the golf game. It’s incredible how golf has taught me to maintain a positive outlook, I respect the challenge of improving myself constantly physically, mentally and emotionally. I especially like how I have progressed over the years and I’m grateful for the dedication and support from my parents, coaches and teachers who have helped in the amazing journey I’m on.
I began competing competitively about 5 years ago. Training and competing in many junior tournaments. During my middle school years I was part of Circle Christian School Girls Golf team for 2 years. In my freshman year I joined the West Orange High School Girls golf team and I was thrilled in helping the team qualify all the way to the FHSSA State Finals. Also in my sophomore and junior year we also qualified and played in States again. I am looking forward in helping my team in my Senior year as captain of the team and to help encourage and support the girls this upcoming golf fall season.
I have learned to balance my time between my academics and golf over the years. Education is important to me and I have worked hard to excel in my academics. I was awarded student of the month and have been recognized by our Principal for my achievements with my grades. I have challenged myself by taking both honors and AP classes. I plan to major in Business Finance because I am fascinated by the world of business trading and investments. I view to be successful in both golf and business, both being about strategy.
I’m confident that I will be both a valuable student and player to the University I attend. I’ll utilize my skills, hard work, and dedication as a student athlete to either continue or improve the high standards of the College program I will be a part of. I am looking forward to play collegiate golf, but for now I am enjoying every part of my journey that I know will take me to my aspiration of playing on the LPGA Tour. I leave you with one of my favorite quotes. “The real test in golf and in life is not in keeping out of the rough, but in getting out after you are in” Zig Ziglar
