Sydney Himes '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Sydney Himes. I attend Northside High School in Columbus, GA. I have been a golfer for almost 7 years now, and have increased my level of competitiveness each year. I enjoy golf not only because it is fun, but I also love the environment. I have met so many friends through golf and it has taught me life lessons on how to be patient and how to treat others with respect. I work hard on my game and continue to improve. In my first season at Northside, I was the low medalist in two of the invitational tournaments. I also qualified as an individual for the Georgia 5A State Tournament as a freshman and finished in the top ten. In my second season, our team qualified for the Georgia 5A State Tournament and I was selected to the All State Team. In my third season, our team won the Maple Ridge Classic and the Area tournament (which is the qualifier for State; I was the low medalist). Our team placed 3rd at state and I was 3rd overall individually. I was also selected for the All Star South team and played in the North/South All Star tournament. In addition to school golf, I also play a lot of tournament golf. I was selected to the 2022 All Hurricane Jr Golf team. My best performance was first place in the Club Corp Series #7 at Braelinn Golf Club. While golf is an important part of my life, academics is too. I am very focused at school and enjoy learning as much as I can. I currently have a 4.28/4.0 GPA and continue taking honors and AP classes. My favorite subjects are math and science, so I hope to work in that field when I am older. I continue to set new goals in golf, and push myself to work harder, so that I can achieve these goals, and continue lowering my score.
